said the serpent to her lover

I wonder if
you even know what it is that your holding
as you move against me in the darkened room
do you feel the scales beneath your fingertips?
the split of tongue in your mouth
the rattle against your bare skin...
how can you walk away?
and not offer me a cool dry place
a basket to recoil in
So i can rise to your music
and charm the crowd from their gold
no, you choose to close your eyes
prefering to think i'm some ordinary poppet
to stick at random
and sew close the mouth so i won't disturb you
i have venom in my throat.
but i seem to prefer loving you
luckily, for you
i am easily amused with the crowded marketplace
i slither thru unnoticed
and the men, they seldom wear anything beneath their robes;)
hissssssss
